Thomas Kadlec’s ‘Starship Bridge Demo’ puts you on the bridge of Star Trek’s Voyager, using the Oculus Rift and the game engine ‘Unreal Engine 4’. Unreal Engine has got alot of Virtual Reality developers talking, mainly for it’s Oculus Rift support. Also, you can compile some breathtaking games for a very reasonable price of just $19 a month. You can view the demo below, however it isn’t quite completed yet, it only shows the bridge as of yet but seems more than enough to convince people (especially trek fans).
The idea of actually being there. Of being immersed in a space you are familiar with, of having that space between you and the television completely eliminated. That would feel awesome.
