In this video Margaret talks about how important it was to have the full support of the school and the parents for phase 1 of the pilot project in Carlow last year. Also how important it was that the kids used MissionV not just at school but at home, to collaborate and build things together.
She then discusses game-based learning and how the kids had the same fun as playing a video game while learning in MissionV. And it’s great …

Being a geeky coder…. is cool.

Posted by:

It was wonderful to see teen (social) entrepreneur and programming whizz James Whelton featured on Wednesday night’s Nationwide programme on RTE1. Not only has James started his own internet company but he’s behind the Coder Dojo movement bringing programming workshops to young kids all across Ireland. I’d love to see kids getting time to watch it in school and to learn just how cool it is to be a geeky developer / entrepreneur.
You can watch the Nationwide episode here.
